Unsere Hochstamm-Apfelb\u00e4ume vermitteln ein Gef\u00fchl von Weidehorizont und die Pflanzen in den Beeten haben ihren Ursprung in der Wiesenflora, sind jedoch etwas farbenfroher und kr\u00e4ftiger und ziehen sowohl Schmetterlinge als auch Bienen an. Auf diese Weise konnte ein und dasselbe St\u00fcck Land viele Funktionen erf\u00fcllen. Im Grunde war es eine Wiese mit Apfelb\u00e4umen. Oft handelte es sich um Wild\u00e4pfel, die mit gez\u00fcchteten Apfelsorten veredelt wurden. Nach der Bl\u00fcte wurde die Wiese gem\u00e4ht und das Heu als Tierfutter geerntet. Anschlie\u00dfend wurde das Vieh auf die Wiese gelassen, um dort den Rest des Sommers zu grasen.
