Good to know if you have a disability

With a few exceptions, Astrid Lindgren’s Näs is adapted for wheelchair users and the disabled. Our gardens and the walkway from our parking lot to the entrance are equipped with stone flour walkways. The exhibitions, the shop and the restaurant are adapted and there are marked disabled spaces in the car park. The childhood home of Astrid Lindgren and the building called Boa with the old granary is privately owned by the Lindgren Family and not adapted for the disabled. You cannot bring a wheelchair inside.

Admission

Disabled guests pay the regular admission ticket. Admission is free for a accompanying personal carer/assistant. Our main entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Personal carer

If you have a disability that requires the need for a companion or personal carer, the carer/ comapanion gets free admission on presentation of a personal carer certificate. The companion must be at least 16 years old and must be able to prove with a certificate that he or she works as a companion. A parent of a child with a disability is not entitled to free admission unless the parent is employed as the personal carer and can show a personal carer certificate. If you visit us without a certified companion, but have a certificate that you need extra help with activities similar to museum visits, we can give free admission to a relative or companion without a personal companion certificate. We approve certificates from health care, the municipality, schools and assistance companies.
