Astrid Lindgren has influenced the Swedish 20th century like no other. She is still relevant today. She has given us fantastic stories, songs, films and plays. She has given us a deeper understanding of right and wrong. Everything is still there, just as it was when Astrid was little: the harmonium she never wanted to practise on, the beautiful cushion she embroidered, the bed she was born in.
