Accessibility

With a few exceptions, Astrid Lindgren’s Näs is adapted for wheelchair users and the disabled. Our garden paths and the walkway from our car park to the entrance are compacted earth. The exhibitions, shop and restaurant are adapted for accessibility and there are marked disabled spaces in the car park. Astrid Lindgren’s childhood home and the building called Boa are not adapted for disabled visitors.

Entrance price
Guests with disabilities pay the regular admission price. Personal helpers/accompanying persons are entitled to free admission. Our main entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Carers
If you have a disability that requires a carer, the carer is entitled to free admission. The carer must be at least 16 years of age and must be able to provide proof that they are working as a carer. If you have several carers, they must pay the regular entrance price, unless you can provide proof of the need for more than one carer. If you visit us without an authorised carer, but have a certificate stating that you need extra assistance with an activity, such as visiting a museum, we can grant free admission to a relative without proof that they are working as a carer. We accept certificates from the health service, municipalities, schools and assistance service companies.

Parking
Our car park is located approximately 100 metres from the entrance to the site and has marked disabled spaces. The walkway from our car park to the entrance is compacted earth.

Toilets
There are disabled toilets in the Pavilion and in the Vicarage. The disabled toilet in the Pavilion is equipped with a changing table.

Guide dogs/Dogs
Guide, service and signal dogs are welcome in all areas of the site. The childhood home and the warehouse are privately owned and not adapted for guide dogs and disabled people. If you would like to visit our restaurant and outdoor seating areas with a guide dog, please contact the restaurant staff. We have placed water bowls in several places around the gardens and dogs must be kept on a lead throughout their visit.
