Astrid Lindgren’s Näs is a visitor attraction in Vimmerby – in the heart of the environment in which Astrid Lindgren grew up. This is where Astrid Lindgren’s authorship started. It was here at Näs that she climbed the lemonade tree and played with her siblings in the woodshed. It was here that she jumped in the hay and listened to stories in Kristin’s kitchen.
Kulturkvarteret Astrid Lindgren Näs AB was founded by the Municipality of Vimmerby, which also owned the company, to mark the 100th anniversary of Astrid Lindgren’s birth. On 31 March 2017, the company was transferred into the ownership of Astrid Lindgrens Vimmerby AB. The job of Astrid Lindgren’s Näs is quite simply to run and develop a visitor attraction in Vimmerby based on Astrid Lindgren’s achievement.
