Guided tours

Dear Guest, It is with heavy heart that we announce that our last opening day for this year will now be on Sunday 28 June. Under prevailing circumstances and financial reasons, we see no other way than to close for the year. We now choose to focus on 2021 hope that we will see you then.

Join us for a guided tour and move back in time when Astrid Lindgren grew up here with her three siblings, her parents and many others who worked on the farm.
The house looks like when Astrid Lindgren was a little girl. She restored it herself in the 1960s. During the period May to September we have daily views of the childhood home in swedish and German.

Groups/ Group offers

Astrid Lindgren’s Näs is a destination and a place for all the senses in the heart of the environment in which Astrid Lindgren grew up. A visit to Astrid Lindgren’s Näs rarely leaves anyone untouched.

Here you find the childhood home of Astrid Lindgren, which she restored in the 1960s. Here you will also find the only exhibition in the world about Astrid Lindgren’s life and authorship.

We are a place that shares the story about Astrid Lindgren’s life work every day and we are at the place where she gained so much inspiration for her authorship, the one from her childhood, from Småland and from her upbringing on the farm Näs here in Vimmerby. Here we have created beautiful gardens that surround the childhood home and which have grown from themes that were important to Astrid Lindgren throughout her writing.

We are a much appreciated visitor destination for groups and many especially like the breadth of the experience. We are happy to help you book your visit.

The entrance ticket includes our permanent exhibition “The Whole World’s Astrid Lindgren” the gardens at Astrid Lindgren’s Näs and our temporary exhibitions.
