Astrid Lindgren – the landscape of imagination

The story of Mio, My Son is one of Astrid Lindgren’s most beloved story adventures, which takes the reader on a dizzying journey into the world of imagination. This year’s summer exhibition is all about imagination and takes Mio, My Son as its starting point.

Showing from 17 April to 29 June

I will never forget this

Year 5 students at Nydalaskolan in Malmö share stories from their lives in words and pictures. I will never forget this is a book that depicts what it is like to be a child in Sweden today. The children write about their memories, big and small, humorous, sad, dramatic, strange and scary.

Previous exhibitions

Our exhibitions deal with different perspectives on Astrid Lindgren’s life and authorship, but also sometimes relate to specific themes found in her books or that were otherwise important in her life.

To previous exhibitions

“Mankind is preoccupied with two great things: death and love; these catch the interest of all ages. You shouldn’t scare children to the point of anxiety, but just like adults they need to be moved by art.”

Astrid Lindgren in Dagens Nyheter on 8 September 1959
