The Leaf Hall
The joy of life can be expressed in many ways. Here in the gardens it is through the leafy hall. Flickers of sunlight and happy colours, diversity and movement and the sound of rustling leaves in the wind. Wood avens, meadow rue, water avens and mourning widow in a blissful mix, soft grasses and swings in which to rock and let your imagination carry you away. This is the leafy hall of life’s joy.
A fluttering of the heart
The joy of life, that feeling when your heart flutters with pleasure and you want to laugh without knowing why. When was the last time you felt like that? Astrid Lindgren’s stories are full of joy, but also characters who can grab hold of the feeling of happiness and express it: Ronja with a spring cry, Olle in Noisy Village with a bubbling “I’m alive, I’m alive, I’m alive” rolling around in a summer ditch and Seacrow Island’s Melker repeating the words “this day is a life” in his philosophising way, as a reminder to seize the moment.

‘Sometimes it’s like life picked out one of its days and said, “I’ll give you everything! You’re going to be one of those rosy days that shimmers in the memory when all others are forgotten.’’
Malin from ‘Vi på Saltkråkan’
