Mio of the Whole World

On display in the Garden House from July 3 to September 21.

An exhibition of images by 20 illustrators from different countries.

Here they interpret the story of Mio, My Son in their own personal styles and using various techniques, all with great respect for Astrid Lindgren’s work. The exhibition is part of the SmåBUS Children’s Book Conference 2025 and is organized by the SmåBUS Association (Children’s and Youth Literature Småland).

Mio’s fate touches many.
Join us on an exciting journey to the Faraway Land, where the encounter with the knight Kato will send shivers down your spine, and where the friendship between Mio and Jum-Jum warms the heart.

You and I and countless others around the world are inspired by Astrid Lindgren’s works. We dream of her Småland, we shiver when Ronja jumps across the Hell Gap,

And we shed tears of joy when Mio finds his father. Pippi, Lotta, Lisa, Mio, Ronja… they are our friends and we know each other well.

In “Mio of the Whole World,” 20 illustrators come together. They bring their own ideas and personal stories. Each has wandered through the dark forest; each has met the knight Kato.
In this exhibition, you’ll get to meet them.

I hope your world has grown larger today.
