Pettson and Findus and many more! Welcome to the worlds of Sven Nordqvist
A trip deep into the amusing and puzzling world of Sven Nordqvist. Follow his artistic development from sketches and paintings that he himself saved from a young age through to the original pictures in the August prize-winning book Where is my sister. A comprehensive exhibition that featured a wealth of material by Sweden’s most popular children’s book author. A Pettson-style ‘Scatterbrained House’ was also built as an exploration room for playful and curious children.
About the exhibition
A feature of the exhibition is the rarely seen sketches and paintings that Sven Nordqvist himself saved from his youth. There are paintings he made at the age of 11 and sketches from an American correspondence course in drawing, as well as cartoons and caricatures. There are also a number of exercises, model drawings and contemporary graphics. In connection with the exhibition, a Pettson-style ‘Scatterbrained House’ is being built as a discovery room for playful and curious children. A whole house filled with exciting and imaginative gadgets, and perhaps even chickens and muckles.
