FOOD: More than a meal
Food is culture. Food is identity. Food is raw ingredients. Food is community. These are just a few examples of everything food can be – far more than a meal or the energy that keeps us going.
There are different themes on the menu.
In this season’s major exhibition, we set the table with themes such as reuse, eating, cultivation, transportation, and storage. “Food. More than a meal” explores our relationship with food and shows how history can help us look toward a more sustainable future.
The exhibition will be shown at Astrid Lindgren’s Näs from May to September 2026.
The exhibition is produced by Regionmuseet Skåne together with the Norwegian open-air museum Maihaugen in Lillehammer and the Danish museum Den Gamle By in Aarhus, with support from the Nordic Culture Fund and Nordic Culture Point. The exhibition is inspired by the V&A’s “FOOD: Bigger Than The Plate.”
